Join us for a one-hour community audition workshop! This sixty-minute mock audition will be the place to get professional, individual feedback on your stage skills. Building upon last fall’s successful workshop, Auditions in an Hour, we’ll very briefly review the key components to a successful audition, including:
Picking the right audition song
How to give an unprofessional audition (and what to do instead)
How to make the accompanist happy
What to do if you bomb
Then we’ll open the floor to community auditions! If you would like to participate for feedback, please prepare the following:
– Two contrasting 16-32 bar cuts (~30 seconds each) of any musical theatre songs that demonstrate your vocal ability, range and acting skills. Please provide sheet music for the pianist.
– Headshot and resume (optional), to be returned
– Please dress as you would in an audition
The workshop is open to participants of all ages and skill levels, or you may choose to simply attend / watch. Advance registration is preferred, but not required. Auditions will be on a first-come, first-served basis, ordered first by registration, then drop-in.
