For decades, downtown Columbia has been the location of the Central Missouri holiday parade, providing family-friendly fun for a few thousand people of all ages. Today’s parade celebrates all cultures and traditions, providing an afternoon event where attendees can come together in a spirit of love, fun, and learning about how others celebrate.
As has been the case for a very long time, the parade travels from the corner of College Avenue and Broadway, West on Broadway, to 5th and Locust. The parade is open to all who want to celebrate the season, no matter what that might mean to them.
Parade entries can include just about anything — floats, cars, trucks, marching bands, be creative!
To an extent, parade-day placement will be determined by registration order (first-come, first-served). The first third to register will mostly be in the first third of the parade, and so on. This will be affected in part by what makes sense for the parade (for example, horses will be in the back, not the front).
The parade will take place on Sunday, November 24th, 2019 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM (or until the last entry crosses the finish line). Lineup for the parade starts at 2:00 PM. Stay tuned for information about contests and prizes for the best parade entries.
