KOPN Announces Student Contest to Design Holiday Parade Logo

Contest will be open to all K-12 students throughout central Missouri, chosen by online voting and a final selection committee.

Columbia, Missouri – KOPN community radio, host of the Central Missouri Holiday Parade, held November 24th, announced today that it is holding a contest of area K-12 students to choose an official logo for the event.

The first round of the selection process will choose 10 finalists and will be conducted through online voting, available at KOPN.org starting April 30th. Finalists will present their designs to a selection committee, including members of Columbia’s city council.

Contest rules and entry materials are available at kopn.org. Entries will be accepted until Friday, April 26th, at 3:00 PM. More information is available at the website or by calling KOPN at 573-874-1139.

The KOPN Central Missouri Holiday Parade is scheduled for Sunday, November 24th, 3:00-5:00 PM (continuing the traditional day and time). The route will be the same as in past years, starting at College Avenue and Broadway, going west on Broadway to 5thStreet, turning south, and ending at Locust and 5thStreets.

KOPN 89.5 FM is Columbia’s community radio station, operated primarily by volunteers and funded primarily by listeners. KOPN is Mid-Missouri’s source for in-depth news, diverse talk, and music of the world.
