Lila is a busy working mom with three young children. She’ll tell you what she feeds her family, explain why she makes the food choices she does, and give you lots of recipes and ideas, including tips on how to get your kids to eat their veggies! You’ll leave this breakout session armed with simple, practical advice to implement right away.
EFT: The Unexpected Pathway to Peace with Kelly Howe, RN
Join Kelly for a breakout session discussing a cutting edge healing technique known as EFT or emotional freedom technique. Kelly is a transformational coach who specializes in this out of the box but highly effective tool for releasing emotional wounding and rewiring the nervous system to quickly dial down the stress response. Emotional Freedom Techniuqe(also called “tapping”) is a powerful emotional, somatic and neuro-regulatory technique that combines both modern psychology and ancient Chinese medicine. While utilizing the same acupoints used in traditional acupuncture, clients “tap” lightly on acupoints while being led to focus on an emotional issue while connecting with the physical sensation. Known as the “try it on anything” technique EFT has been highly effective with anxiety, stress, chronic pain, phobias, sports performance, addiction, cravings/weight loss and anything where fear is holding a person back from living a full and vibrant life. Introduction to Meditation with Catina Topash

Meditation doesn’t mean sitting for hours on end in an uncomfortable pose trying to focus while our mind races. You will be given many tools that can be done in a matter of minutes to create a calmer, more peaceful you. Catina Topash is a Master Trainer for YogaFit, Group Fitness Director at Wilson’s Fitness, and co-owner of [email protected]’s Folly Bed and Breakfast and Yoga Retreats. She holds multiple certifications including:Yoga Alliance 500 RYT, E-200RYT, Yacep, ACE PT, AFFA Group Fitness, and various specialty certifications including trauma sensitive yoga.
Low-Intervention Birth Program with Courtney Barnes, MD
The benefits of a non-medicated labor and delivery are well documented. MU Health Care’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital offers the region’s only Low-Intervention Birth Program focused on giving women with an interest in natural birth the experience they desire. The program includes suites that offer a home-like atmosphere, room features designed to ease labor pain, and nurses trained to support families through every step. The program’s director and board-certified OBGYN, Courtney Barnes, MD will talk about how Women’s and Children’s provides innovative care for women in mid-Missouri.
