Attendance Boundary Policy and the Segregation of Public Schools in the U.S.
February 22 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pmFree
Please join the Truman School of Public Affairs at the University of Missouri for a seminar series with Dr. Tomas Monarrez of Urban Institute to learn about Attendance Boundary Policy and the Segregation of Public Schools in the U.S. School attendance boundaries, which map student residential addresses to school attendance rights, are the most common student assignment mechanism in U.S. public schools. This research explores how school districts set these policies, with the aim of characterizing local leaderships’ preferences for racially desegregated school systems.
