KOPN Board Meeting Minutes for 10/21/14

Meeting called to order at 7:00pm by John Betz

Present were John Betz, Peter Anger, Atish Sen, James Oxford, Kay Allen, Phillip Rabbit, James Ginns, and David Owens

The previous meeting’s minutes were approved without alteration

Marberry and Eagle, whom the board selected as an auditor this year, sent a business proposal which was distributed to the board members. The letter notes an anticipated start on November first and a completion date no later than Feb 28.

Dates for the November drive were set from Nov. 3rd to Nov. 9th. Owing to the relatively short period between our last drive (August 21 to 31) money is still being processed by the previous drive.

John Betz has chosen the period for the Community Advisory Committee to be either November 19th or 20th. He plans to hold the meeting in concert with Atish Sen and any other interested board member.

Annual board meeting elections will be held in early January which means getting out a letter regarding elections in a timely fashion, something that did not happen last year. Atish Sen expressed a desire to nominate Kurt Wohleber, a former volunteer with some experience in the station. No other nominations have been made at this time.

Como Gives, the coordination of non-profit giving that KOPN participated in last year, begins December the 1st. This fundraising event has frequently been discussed as a potential means to expand our social media presence, but no definite plans have been made.

The budget that was proposed in previous meetings was mentioned briefly, but not followed up on.
