Tyree (Stanley Otto) Byndom was born in St. Louis, MO. on October 16, 1971 at 6:29 P.M. to Debra Byndom (age 14) and Stanley Otto Clay (age 16). In an era were children having children was still new; this was a grim reality for his mother. As a result most of the family opted and advised his mother to abort the embryo, which was to be their first child of the next generation, the first grandchild, but his mother did not believe in abortions. His father (Stanley) was shot and died on the day Tyree was due, a month and a day before his birth. The circumstances were unimaginable to endure.

After attempting to live in St. Louis, dealing with several burglaries and a fire, Mom (24) took a chance to leave, to go to a calmer place. Columbia was the magnet for the family to cling to for a chance at a normal life. Moving each year, attending new schools in each town, coupled with the circumstances of having no father, it was difficult for Tyree to settle down and feel at home. After much trouble as a juvenile and feeling alienated from the community, Tyree decided to join the Marine Corps after graduating from Hickman High School. Tyree returned to Columbia six years later to raise his family in the town that offered him a chance. Now as a community leader wearing many hats and member of the Baha'i Community, he does his part to expand the minds of his fellow countrymen and to champion unity and justice.
