La Festival del Pollo

with host Frank Shulse

Frank Shulse has been doing Latin Sounds on KOPN since the late 1990's.  Originally his program was three hours every Saturday, but in 1999 or 2000 or thereabouts he donated the 9am to 10am slot to Cristina Lindall, who created La Hora Latina, a showcase of Latin culture and news with the help of producer Bronwyn Madden and others.

In the early years of this century Frank met a young Argentinian journalism student who was working with Bronwyn and friends on La Hora Latina and encouraged her to follow her dream to create a fine Latin News program called Ondas Latinas. Frank surrendered alternate Saturdays to Mariana to bring real, in-depth Latin news to mid-Missouri. Mariana has since graduated from both the University and KOPN and is working full-time in New Jersey in Latin news.

Latin Sounds features the best in Latin music from all countries and cultures in a wonderful eclectic format where one never knows what to expect next.

Frank alternates Saturdays from 10:00am-Noon with Pollo of La Hora Latina.
