KOPN 89.5 F.M. Celebrates Listener Powered Radio With Fans, Donors, and the Les Bourgeois Winery by Holding a Concert Benefit, Located at the Winery's blufftop A-frame Outdoor Facility From 4-7 P.M. on October 18th.
Providing an average of 17 hours of local programming a day, KOPN broadcasts around the clock to the mid-Missouri area. KOPN is a not-for-profit radio station, 99% volunteer operated, and financed by grants, underwriting and listener support. The fall fund drive runs from October 8 to October 17th and at its conclusion, fans, donors, volunteers, and the curious are welcome to attend the Les Bourgeois KOPN benefit concert. Proceeds go to support the station.

Performers include long time local favorite Ironweed, a band with a foot tapping bluegrass sound and known for their high-energy fast picking, and Noah Earle, singer/songwriter from Columbia. Noah Earle tours nationally, but always has time to help out his home town. He's one of the few local bands featured in the Roots N Blues N BBQ festival on October 3rd and 4th. He plays several instruments and masters several styles of music.

This show also features the performance debut of the newly formed roots and folk band Jack Tar which is comprised of two members of the Doxies, bass player of the former band My Fabulous Outfit, and a harmonica player, new to Columbia. Daryl Keller and Abby Rhodes have both studied theatre and performance. They will each present a short performance piece between performances by the bands.
